fujifilm x100s | japan 2014

Posted in japan by
I brought my Fujifilm x100s to Japan in 2014. I decided that bringing a fixed lens mirrorless camera for this trip would be a fun challenge for me. But being the kiasu Singaporean that I am, I brought my Canon 5D MK3 in addition to the x100s. Can we say it was an overkill??

I won’t go into the specs. You can find tons of information online. I’ll just talk about what I loved or hated about the camera. What I love about the x100s are the colors, bokeh and manual controls. If you close your eyes and let your imagination run wild, you can *almost* imagine it to be a DSLR. But since I’ll talk about this camera in relation to travel, let’s focus on that aspect.

– almost silent shutter sound
– bokeh
– controls
– viewfinder
– vintage look

– size (larger than some mirrorless cameras)
– slow start up
– short battery life

All right, get ready for a picture heavy post! All these pictures a SOOC (straight out of the camera). I can be quite lazy at editing pictures. 🙂
